An orange fruit grown in Florida, must be a citrus, right? No it's a delicious fruit that China and Japan has shared with us. It is as popular in many parts of the world as the apple is here in the United States. After you taste one you will immediately understand why! Many of us in the US remember the first time we tasted a persimmon, probably as the target of a trick to watch someone try to get the astringent taste out of their mouth immediately after taking the first bite. The Fuyu Persimmon never has that terrible taste even when eaten green (however it is much sweeter when it turns that beautiful orange).
